Design Process
JPA’s design process has been developed over 20 years to eliminate the costs associated with unnecessary iterations and place the emphasis on communication. Our design solutions reflect the qualities and aspirations of our clients, whilst being aware of the practicalities of cost, production and installation.
Our staff of interior designers, product designers and architects uses the latest computer design packages to produce visual and engineering data. This information can be put to use throughout the project, from initial concepts to final marketing.
The design process can be split into Research, Detail Design and Management.
JPA Research Process
Design Brief:
JPA can help develop a thorough and unambiguous design brief to ensure that all parties have the correct information and are aware of the project parameters from the start.
Initial Appraisals & Assessments:
Appraisals and assessments coupled with discussion with the client, allow JPA to extract and focus on the most important issues. These form the core around which other considerations will pivot.
Initial Research & Feasibility Studies:
Extensive research at the start of the project ensure that all possible avenues have been considered before a route is chosen. Feasibility studies aid this process of elimination.
JPA Detailed Design Process
Conceptual Design & Design Development:
This section incorporates the body of the design project where concepts are refined to practical final solutions, materials are sourced and the logistics of production and installation are considered.
Design Engineering:
JPA uses CAD throughout to ensure that all engineering issues are addressed early on and costly omissions avoided. These files can be transferred to manufacturers in seconds and integrated into the production process.
Model Making & Animation:
Traditional model-making techniques as well as rapid-prototyping can help communicate the actual look and feel of a product. Similarly, fly-throughs and computer animations can add extra realism to a concept allowing the client a clearer idea of the final design.
